Time lapse video of my most recent Roman Illustration. Piece was created using a Wacom Intuous4, Illustrator CS4 and Photoshop CS4 while I sat at a coffee shop on RIT’s campus… the air conditioning was on for some reason, and it was really cold…

Plus I had to use the bathroom the entire time, so my pen movements were totally erratic, but I didnt feel like packing up my stuff–only to potentially lose the table I was working at… Someone really needs to come up with a good way to resolve this common problem.

Today’s post, Ali Final. I found some time today to finish up and tweak the illustration I started yesterday of my good friend Ali. I have actually drawn portraits of Ali several times during the course of my blog, but I feel this is the best representation I have made to date. Especially since he is holding the highly coveted “Shot in the Dark” hot chocolate / espresso drink from Java Wallys here at RIT. Ali is an amazing designer… We started http://www.dwaiter.com together ( Along w/ Therese Hannigan *Shout out! ), and it’s been sad that since I left, we don’t get to hang out as much. We still catch up now and then with some coffee, and the occasional lunch.

Today’s Illustration, Roman. Roman is a fellow New Media Gangsta. He makes the best crepes from scratch, dances like a fiend, and is one of the coolest muthafu*#Az I know! … Hailing from the mighty Ukraine, this kid will dazzle you with his footwork. His birthday is coming up this week, so I gotta show him some sketchbooked love! 

Ryan (3/8/2010). This is day two of my special sunday request of action shots via twitter and facebook… Ryan is currently a Senior in the New Media Design program at RIT…

Luke (2/28/2010). Luke is a coworker at Dumbwaiter Design. A Motion graphics and storyboarding master, Luke handles a lot of our motion graphics work. Rich (2/24/2010). Rich is a fellow New Media Designer, and Graduate of RIT. We chat online, and discuss all things tech, design and Puerto Rican food over the internets. He has been very supportive of my blog and my efforts of digital sketching peoples and whatnot, so I’d thought how best to show my appreciation than to immortalize his mug on my blog. Bret (2/02/2010). Bret is an awesome guy, a fellow New Media Designer. I went to college with Bret. Always cracking jokes and with a smile, he can make any situation hilarious.

True Story- one time a bunch of us New Media Peoples went to an FITC conference in Toronto, there were about 10 of us in total as a group. We were walking about downtown TO seeing sights, and somehow we left Bret somewhere. We were all sitting around the hotel room… doing our thing, and someone says “Hey, where is Bret?”, We all shrugged … Soon after we agreed to go find him, but no one takes the initiative … about 20 minutes pass, and Brett shows up like WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?! and we were all like hey, we were just about to go out looking for you.. LOL… he was fine… he didn’t get eaten by a homeless man or anything… Anyways… you had to be there to truly get the hilarity of it all…

Eric (1/28/2010). I met Eric when he was a student of mine at RIT. Currently he is a flash developer at firstborn in NYC. Homeboy represented last year as the first NMD grad to present at FITC Tech Festival! Ben (1/26/2010). The Amazing multitalented Ben. I went to RIT and studied New Media Design along this kid. He does some amazing motion graphics and design work for Nickelodeon and other various incarnations of equally creative television and broadcast media outlets. Haqi. (1/17/10) Unfortunately, I don’t know Haqi all that well. I met him when he was one of Ali’s students and I subb’ed in for his class. Haqi is a student at RIT in the New Media Design program. We’ll have the occasional wall post exchange every now and then, and we’ll see each other roaming the halls of RIT. He is a very dedicated and hard working individual whose specialties include film, design, and motion graphics. His work is very promising, and hopefully I’ll get to know him better through posting this.
